Tricycle fare in Quezon City up

A petition to increase tricycle fare in Quezon City has been approved on Monday by the local

government and took effect yesterday.

Under City Ordinance SP-1842, the minimum fare per person on regular trip is now P7.50, up

from P6.

Meanwhile, the P12 fare for a special trip increased to P16 on the first kilometer. An additional

P1 shall be added to the fare for every succeeding kilometer.

The ordinance, which was signed by Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. on July 14 cited

the enduring increases in the prices of fuel in the past weeks.

The ordinance would cover the 24,000 registered tricycles in the city. - Katherine
